What is the worst part of passing kidney stones?
What is the worst part of passing kidney stones? Is it when the stones goes from the kidney to the bladder? Or is it when the stones comes out while urinating?
I recently felt a stone moving from my kidney to my bladder. When do you think I should actually pass the stone?
Any idea when I can expect to pass the stone? I felt it move from my kidney to bladder just a few minutes ago. I am not sure if it is in my bladder yet or not.
I hear people compared passing a stone to giving birth… oh my
Also… doc gave me codeine but I lost it…
I have naproxen 500mg in the car… can I take that? Its like advil.

Depending on how big the stone is and how rigid every process of passing the stone is awful. I have dealt with kidney stones since being a teenager, and mine have gotten worse the older I have gotten. At this point I have a huge stone that will not pass and I am looking at having to have it surgically removed. Drinking juices like orange, grape, and pineapple juice DO help break down stones. Also Xango juice has helped me ALOT! It has helped with breaking it down and the pain. Also the time period can differ, I have felt some move down and they pass within 12 hours, others can take days. Use a heating pad to help with the pain too.

Anytime. Expect pain. It’s no walk in the park.

The worst pain comes when the stone passes from kidney through ureter on way to bladder. The amount of pain depends on the size of the stone and the amount of time it takes for it to get to the bladder.
I (praise the Lord) have never personally experienced it, but I have seen many who did. I am told it is worse than childbirth, though usually not as long – as in hours.
Take the Advil type medicine if you need it. If it doesn’t handle the pain, go to the ER.
Don’t forget to strain your urine.
