Are Kidney Stones an expected part of life?
As a male who plans on living a fairly long life… should I expect that at some point I’ll have to pass kidney stones in my older age or is this something that occurs in only a percentage of men?
You don’t just get kidney stones later in life. Usually it is due to diet having too much calcium oxalate or something else to that effect. Some people just have a tendency to make stones. You probably have nothing to worry about. My father and brother have calcium oxalate stones and have to stay away from green leafy vegetables and iced tea and other things high in calcium. I’m almost 70 and no kidney stones so far. I don’t think it’s necessarily to be expected.
